Democratic Values, Scientific Values

The scientific responsibility is observed in its finest form, but too often in relation to power. There is no negligence in safeguarding the interest of power; instead it is the rights of the people and the rights of the environment which is ignored. There is a need to reverse this relationship.
When democratic values and scientific values are aligned, human rights, environmental rights and consequently, quality of life and human aspirations are realized. Injustice and environmental devastation occurs when democratic and scientific values align with values of power.
